Training in a very scientific and structured classical dance form such as Bharatanatyam has its own unique perks:

  • Clear Anga-shuddhi (precise movements) (with improved mind-body connection benefits)

  • Emotive Abhinaya (enhanced expressions) (with benefits for speech/debate/drama participation as well)

  • Awareness of clean lines and angles (aesthetic body movement which can be useful in any form of dance)

  • Improved use of Hasthas (hand gestures) (which also has nerve stimulation benefits to the brain)

  • Advanced theory and background for deeper understanding of various facets - history, Bhaava, Raaga, Taala

  • Complex strenuous korvais (sequence of steps with creative flair)

  • Traditional Tanjore Quartette pieces (preserving heirloom artistic work across generations)

  • Wholesome learning that culminates in a beautiful Arangetram (solo debut recital)

  • Advanced second Margam for post-Arangetram students that can be presented as a solo performance

  • Techniques of teaching Bharatanatyam to students of different age groups to take up a career in dance
